John Denney Lost At Sea Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Shake, friends, received word recently that Lt. (j. g.) John Denney, Jr., well known in Payette, was lost at sea in the recent hurricane disaster when the destroyer Warrington on which the young man was serving sunk off Cape Hatteras. Young Denney whose home was at Chicago spent considerable time in Payette with the Shakes and other friends prior to the war. He had served 22 months in the Pacific war theater and participated in several major battles.
