J. W. Prestel & Sons are now unloading about 20,000 feet of lumber to be used in their headgates, sluices and wastegates. The cuts have all been made but one which has required the removal of 4322 cubic yards of dirt. There are about 4000 cubic yards of dirt yet to be removed. Operations on the ditch have been temporarily suspended on account of the cold snap but will resume as son as any headway can be made. Mr. J. W. Prestel returned home Sunday evening from the timber. He found it no pleasure trip getting his team through some of the snowdrifts, but having had the experience is a section of country where that sort of thing is very common, it may be inferred that he didn’t register any kick against Idaho. Mr. Prestel will take his departure for the East today to superintend the loading of the big sawmill for shipment to Payette.
