It was brought over from Boise by Jellison Brothers arriving here at 7 a.m., and was immediately put in place on the monument already prepared at the intersection of Eighth street and Center Avenue. The beautiful figure was seen by a few who were on the street at that hour of the day, but immediately covered and will not be uncovered until Memorial Day when the unveiling ceremony will take place, however, like the many thousand real doughboy’s he is to represent and seemingly with the same determination to advance against all odds; his right arm raised to its full length with grenade in hand is jammed through the gap in the covering. On Memorial Day it is planned to have many visitors from outside, including Governor C.C. Moore, Adjutant General, and other prominent men and legion members from all the cities from Weiser to Boise, present to take part in the celebration.
