The event furnished an occasion for Mr. and Mrs. French to show their hospitality towards their young friends and to display their exceptional talent for entertaining. As soon as the guest had arrived they were seated at tables and were presented with their souvenir in the shape of a neat wood calendar, appropriately inscribed. After dainty refreshments, the games of cronkinole, pit, flinch and ping-pong were played progressively until the alarm clocks announced the exit of the old year, and immediately after little Florence French descended the stairs in her white robe and extended New Year's greetings. Sacred songs were sung, and then the favored guests reluctantly departed for their homes. Those present were: Rev. and Mrs. Clyde W. Greenlaw, Mrs. C. B. Steunenberg, Mrs. Ruben Shaw, Mrs. Cragin, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Warner, Misses Alice Shaw, Aldia Blayden, Hattie Hinchliff, Nellie Hinchliff, Althea Sheldon, Birdie Ettinger; Messrs. Edwards, Grinsdell, Freeguard, Baird, Gamble, Rodney Smith.
