The richness and advantages of the Payette Valley appeal to them no matter from what part of the country they may have come. During the last week eight families have arrived from eastern states with their household goods to locate here, and all of them are enthusiastic with the Payette Valley and Idaho in general. Among them are A. L. Shafer from Edison, Neb.; Louis Eaton from Edison, Neb.; J. G. Nelson from Mosale, Iowa; J. Catnell from Idaho Falls, Idaho; C. H. Moore from Amherst, Neb.; Karl Hartman from Amherst, Neb.; Bland and Priber from Verdege, Neb.; and E. J. Bowerman from St. Joseph, Mo. Besides these there are many others arriving. G. T. Gormley of Grand Junction, Col., a conductor on the Denver & Rio Grande, likes the Payette Valley well enough to invest $4400 here. He had heard a good deal of this valley from others who have come here from Grand Junction and he decided to make a short visit here. The result was that he bought, through the agency of Ackerman & Wells, 40 acres of land near Fruitland of Lafayette Johnson for the amount stated. He is going to set out a big orchard and intends to come here some time in the future and make his home.
