New County Attorney.

W. A. Stone tendered his resignation as county attorney to the board of 
commissioners last week at Caldwell, with the request that it be accepted at 
once, and Frank J. Smith of that city was appointed to the position.  Mr. 
Smith, who is one of the prominent lawyers of his county and state formerly 
served as county attorney, when he gave the utmost satisfaction and the action 
of the commissioners in selecting him to fill the vacancy made by the 
resignation of Mr. Stone entitles them to the congratulations of all on their 
sound judgment.  Mr. Smith has a wide circle of friends in the Payette Valley 
who will be pleased to hear of his appointment.
