Payette has added another industry to her ever growing number of business enterprises in the shape of an ice cream plant and confectionery store. The new establishment is located in the old Thurston drug store building on Broad street, and will be conducted by C. Slocum. The ice cream freezers are running by a steam engine placed at the rear of the building and if an all day run should be made from 150 to 200 gallons of cream could be frozen. Mr. Slocum expects to furnish ice cream for neighboring cities.
