New Paper for Payette.

L. E. Merritt, who has been a citizen of Payette for some time and is well 
known to many of our people will begin the publication of the Payette Valley 
Enterprise in this city next week.  The publication day will be Thursday.  The 
new paper will be independent in politics.  Mr. Merritt is an experienced 
newspaper man, having formerly conducted a paper in Kansas, where he was also 
prominent in other business and political circles, having served as county 
clerk, and was also postmaster of his home town.  Mr. Merritt purchased the 
subscription list of our Western Ways, which discontinued publication in 
Payette early in December, together with some of the material, to which he has 
added considerable new type, and presses purchased in the east.
