Emmett Index: A cloud burst near New Plymouth last Saturday night resulted in 
breaking the P.V. canal, thereby flooding the adjacent farms, gardens, etc., 
and doing considerable damage.  B. P. Shawhan and George Rinker drove up to 
close down the headgate, arriving in town at about 3 a.m.  The damage to the 
ditch has been repaired and a full head of water is now being carried.
