B. LOONEY ESCAPES FROM ASYLUM O. B. Loney who was suppose to have drowned in the Snake river near his home on Whitley Bottom last July, and was found later in a deranged condition and later sent to the insane asylum, escaped from that place on October 5th and made his way back to Nyssa last Saturday, walking from there to the home of his sister on Whitley Bottom. The sheriff’s office received notice of his return and that evening was brought to Payette by Sheriff Jefferis and Deputy Walbrecht. Looney talked freely of his experience at the asylum in a rambling manner and said he intended to go back to Blackfoot anyhow as soon as he attended to some business matters, he is still in a deranged condition and was returned to the asylum Sunday by a guard from Blackfoot who came here to accompany Mrs. Hurley and son, who were also committed to the asylum.
