The Idaho Canning Company, Limited, has been organized in this city and articles of incorporation have been drawn up and sent to the secretary of state to be filed. The company is a strong one and proposes to at once take steps towards installing a factory in Payette. Its capital stock is $30,000. The directors for the first year are D. D. Ranney, E. E. Ovens and H. G. Adams, all from Ogden, Utah, but whose homes will hereafter be in Payette, and Peter Pence and C. E. Brainard of Payette. A. B. Moss and Amos Phillips of Payette are the other stockholders. Mr. Ovens is at present in Payette and the other two members of the company from Ogden are expected to arrive within the next few days. Mr. Ovens is now negotiating for a site for the canning plant and expects to close the matter up soon. The plan is to enter into contract with farmers and fruitgrowers for the produce to be handled each year and Mr. Ovens is also now making such contracts. Mr. Ovens is making his headquarters at Mr. Brainard’s office where he will be pleased to meet the fruitgrowers and gardeners of the valley. The company would like to have for the coming season 100 acres of peas and 100 acres of tomatoes.
