Grothjean, the artist, formerly of Payette, Idaho, but now residing in New York City, is the inventor of a buggy attachment that is bound to save many lives. It is called the steerable shaft-detacher. It is an attachment by which the fatal results that might otherwise accrue from runaways will be averted. It was tested and shown in use to thousands of people at the Madison Square garden and the American horse exchange of New York some time ago. The foregoing dispatch relates to a former Payette young lady; and it was while residing here that she first planned the invention mentioned.
