PAYETTE ITEMS
 
Mrs. Peter Pence Taken Dangerously ill
 
Payette, March 7 - At the regular meeting of the town council last night the 
ordinance regulating the closing of the saloons on Sunday and at 11:30 p.m. 
week days came up for final passage and was defeated by a vote of 4 to 1, A. 
E. Wood voting for it.
 
Mrs. Peter Pence was taken dangerously sick early this morning and for a while 
her friends thought she could not live long.  This afternoon she was a little 
better.
 
Stewart M. French arrived this morning from New York, where he has spent the 
winter.  Mr. French is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John McGlinchy.
