H. Ormsby, a special agent, has been here for several days and has made arrangements (unreadable) up the rural free delivery. The route will be to New Plymouth and (unreadable) Shoup has been asked to have the Falk's Store Carrier changed so as to only come as far as New Plymouth and connect with the carrier from Payette and then go from New Plymouth to Emmett, thus creating a route from Falk's Store to Emmett, a distance of 12 miles. Mr. Ormsby thought it would require several months to have everything in good working order. The coal famine is on again and it is worse than some time ago. Payette has no wood and what little coal a few have left several other fellows are trying to get at night. R. M. Renshaw of Boise came yesterday and went out to his large cattle ranch. W. Welbey of Southport, England is a new arrival and the guest of his friend, Michael Harris, at Toole's ranch. James Welch, Sr., returned last evening from Blackfoot, where he has been helping to clean up at his Placer Mine. He reports the clean up much better than last year and prospects show that it will be better next year. Payette came very near having a fire. One of our barbers sent a small boy for kerosene and not knowing what kerosene was he forgot and could think of nothing but gasoline. The barber filled his lamp, and when it burned too high he threw it out before it exploded or did any damage.
