The business is 60x60 feet on the ground floor, and two stories in height, and when complete will be a model of style and workmanship. Mr. C. A. Hanson will occupy the corner store on the ground floor with a fine stock of drugs and stationary. In the rear of the drug store Dr. C. M. Scott will have a suite of rooms, to be used as an office. The room adjoining the corner has been rented, as a general merchandise store, while the eight suites of rooms on the second floor have all be rented at good prices. Mr. Alex B. Allen has completed a fine two-story brick dwelling at a cost of $2300. A. E. Gipson's two story brick dwelling, which he built on a lot purchased from Mr. Coughanor, has been completed and is now occupied by the owner. It is an ideal home. Mr. Coughanor is completing a fine new brick dwelling which is to cost about $6000. Mr. I. A. Gammett is just beginning a fine brick dwelling to cost about $2000. J. Q. Haines has bought a lot on the west side of block 10, from Alexs B. Allen, on which he will soon begin erecting a brick dwelling to cost not less than $2000. The contract for the large two story brick Odd Fellows building has been let to W. E. Nichols, and work will be begun thereon within a few days. There are several other handsome structures under contract, which will be put up this fall and in the early spring. One thing is very noticeable to the stranger, and that is the stability and elegance of the improvements which are now under way. This alone shows to the home seeker that the citizens of Payette are confident of the solid foundation upon which their city rests.
