"I am glad that McKinley is shot. It ought to kill him. He ought to have been shot long ago, but it's better late than never," are the words spoken by this fiend on hearing a Christian Endeavor young lady repeat an eulogy given the class on Sunday. He left town the next day and had not returned, but he will be interviewed when he does come back. The above anarchist's words were spoken in his own house, no one being present but his wife and the young lady. All business houses will close tomorrow at 9 a.m. The schools will have a holiday, the churches will hold memorial services. Miss Clara Wood has returned from Spokane, Wash. The ladies of the Portia club held a meeting on Monday and elected the following officers: Mrs. John McGlinchy, president; Mrs. F. A. Smith, vice president; Mrs. Wm Ireton, secretary; Mrs. E. Zimmerman, treasurer. Dave E. Coughonour of Quartzburg is a visitor here for a few days.
