Payette Restaurant And Barber Shop Burned
 
A fire which started shortly after midnight Sunday in the central block of 
Payette, on Main street, destroyed two two-story frame buildings, occupied by 
Tefft's restaurant and Wm. Holt's barber shop, both buildings and their 
contents being a total loss.  The Creighton building, occupied by Keith & Son, 
clothing store, was also damaged, the roof collapsing.  For a time it looked 
as though the fire might destroy a considerable portion of the business 
section.  A strong breeze was blowing, but by hard work the blaze was brought 
under control and by 2 o'clock the fire was practically extinguished.
