R. Woodward received an automobile Monday, having ordered it from the east some weeks ago. It is the first machine of the kind that Payette can boast of and consequently attracted no little attention, although it is handsome enough to do so even if they were a common sight upon our streets. The auto is called the General Touring Car and is probably the finest in the state. It contains two elegantly upholstered seats and is 9-horse power with a capacity of speed ranging from three or four to 50 miles an hour. Dr. Woodward was greatly disappointed upon the arrival of his automobile to find that the water pump which cools the engine had been broken in transit and in consequence the machine could only run a few hundred yards. He sent to the factory immediately to have the broken part replaced but he will necessarily have to wait a number of days longer before he can enjoy his valuable new acquisition.
