M. J. Parsons, manager of the Parsons-Applegate Company, brokers and car lot distributors of domestic and foreign fruits, operating in a territory ranging over Cuba, Florida, Texas, Idaho, Oregon and Washington, arrived in Payette a number of days ago and will make this place his headquarters for the three northwestern states named during this fruit season. Mr. Parsons is well known to many of the Payette Valley fruit-growers, his company having operated here several seasons in years past, when he personally looked after the business, and he has maintained a reputation for very satisfactory dealing. The main office of his company is in Kansas City. Mr. Parsons informed the Independent that his reasons for making Payette his headquarters was because it was conveniently located for his purpose while this valley itself would furnish a large percentage of the crop.
