Jones came out to see Grace Mead on Monday. Ben Strohbehn has a new well and it is reported a good, deep one. The Misses Williams entertained a few friends on Wednesday evening. Miss Maud Stegall came home last Friday for the Mackison anniversary. W. T. Shields is able to do his chores again. He has had quite a siege of inflammatory rheumatism. Mr. T. F. Harry has enhanced the value of his home by putting up a neat front fence with fancy posts. Rev. Dulin preached Sunday afternoon, and heartfelt sympathy was tendered him in his recent bereavement. Charley Paine has completed a very neat cottage on his ranch and will move as soon as the weather is favorable. The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Griep died on Tuesday evening at six o'clock, and was buried at one o'clock on Wednesday. Quite a number of familiar faces were missed last Sunday evening at the Endeavor meeting. Muddy roads take a good deal of courage. At the Mackison anniversary celebration the older people were entertained in the afternoon, and a number of young folks in the evening. Grace Mead has been very ill with pneumonia, requiring a physician three times in twenty-four hours. Hopes for her ultimate recover are now entertained. We neglected to mention last week the difficult yet successful operation on Mr. E. E. Hunter, on Wednesday, by means of which two tumors were taken from the back of his neck, and the patient relieved of much suffering. Dr. Woodward was the attending physician. Our ice men on Williams Avenue feel quite fortunate that they were in the nick o' time in filling their ice house. Seventy-five tons were stored away. Those interested in the supply are David Hall, Hank Williams, Zeke Williams. J. L. Vanatta and Fred Spencer. Miss Effie Johnson, Mrs. Ruth Goodwin, Miss Goodwin and Philip Goodwin came out from Payette and were guests together with about fifteen of the neighborhood young people, at a party given by Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Goodwin. A very merry evening was enjoyed with flinch for the early part of the time, and refreshments, guitar and zither music as a finale.
