Mr. Croften bought about 115 tons this week. The Ladies' Aid Society met with Mrs. Britten on Wednesday of this week. Let everybody, remember the best sugar meeting to be held at the brick school- house Saturday afternoon at one o'clock. A. C. E. social is promised as an event of the near-future. Business meeting will be held Saturday night at the school-house. Invitations are out for a Valentine party so be given by Miss Florence Patheal and Miss Nellie Applegate at the home of the former. Dave and Tom Slone have rented the Strohbehn farm of sixty acres, opposite the hop ranch, and will build a house and -- and-- "batch" it -- for awhile. Miss Grace Mead has had a relapse and at present her recovery is very doubtful. Her family have the heartfelt sympathy and sincere hope for her recovery, of the entire community. Muddy roads don't count at Pleasant View as people go anyway. Sunday night there was "standing room only" in the east room at Endeavor meeting. The society is doing a good work and gaining new members. Mrs. Hubbard's clothes line was put to a new use during the visit of her two brothers and Mr. Mosher. It has a good load of jackrabbits to support the result of various hunting trips taken by Messrs. Hubbard, O'Brien, D. O'Brien, Mosher, Anderson, Warner, F. Warner.
