Chicagoans Sent Out to Report on William E. Smythe's Enterprise. A party of prominent Chicagoans, who compose a committee sent out to investigate the New Plymouth enterprise which William E. Smythe, of the Irrigation Age, and B. P. Shawhan, of Payette, have been working up in the past, are in the city. The party is composed of R. C. Dustan, A. Osterhan, Dr. J. B. Burns, G. Scharfhauser, H. A. Edwards, Mrs. Pollock and Mrs. ?ull. They are with Mr. Shawhan, who is accompanied by his wife. The object of sending out the committee is to secure a report in confirmation of the representations made by Mr. Smythe and Mr. Shawhan. The committee has been in Idaho about a week, having spent most of the time at Payette, near which place it is proposed to locate the New Plymouth colony. The members of the committee hesitate to say anything that would foreshadow their report. However, they state they find everything as represented. Much depends on the report of this committee. If it be favorable a colony in the neighborhood of 300 families will be located at New Plymouth within a short time. The party expects to leave the city today.
