A 10-year contract has been entered into by the government and the owners of the bank building, and work on the new addition will be begun as soon as plans for the building are received from the postoffice department. The new addition in which the postoffice will be located will be 35 by 50 feet in dimensions and will be furnished in modern style. A. P. Scritchfield, cashier and heavy stockholder of the Payette National, says that it is the intention to build the addition to the building two stories high, the second story to be used for office rooms. It will extend from the present building to the alley. A nice front will be built on Main street. If it is possible to excavate deep enough to install a heating plant, Mr. Scritchfield says that it is the intention to furnish the entire building with hot and cold water and make it as near modern as possible.
