A. Hurd, for a few minutes was the proudest boy in Payette County when on the last day of the open season for shooting pheasants, he succeeded in killing his first pheasant just as it was getting dark, on his uncle's farm. But met with the greatest disappointment of his life when some unscrupulous scoundrel who was hunting nearby, took the bird away from him. It is lucky for the low down culprit that the boy's father, who went in search, did not find him. He might have go what the pheasant got.
