Walter H. Graves, Mayor F. M. Satoris and a horse belonging to the former, possessed of nerves not made to come in contact with metropolitan sights and sounds, were all more or less mixed up in a runaway Saturday afternoon from which both Mr. Graves and Mr. Satoris emerged badly shaken up and somewhat injured, although not seriously. Mr. Graves had taken Mr. Satoris into his buggy for a ride and as they were going along Broad street the horse took fright as a passing bicycle, bolting away at a furious gait, but was brought to a dead stop within a very few minutes when it came in contact with the Elite Café building which was not accommodating enough to get out of the way. Mr. Graves was rendered unconscious by the force of the collision and Mr. Satoris received a bad bruise on the side of the head, but neither was thrown from the vehicle and Mr. Satoris was able to lift his companion out of the buggy which was considerably demolished. Since the accident Mr. Satoris has moved about with difficulty and says that he looks at it as the irony of fate that he should have been subjected to such an experience after he had managed to keep out of the city campaign this year by refusing to be a candidate for re-election.
