The boy and his brother were coming over the Payette bridge on a couple of mules, when they met Henry Williams who was going out with a load of lumber. One of the mules, with the natural instincts of his species, began cutting up capers and, falling on the bridge, threw the boy under Williams’ wagon, which ran over his leg, bruising the limb badly. The boy was taken to D. S. Lamme’s store on Front street, and after being warmed and made as comfortable as possible under the circumstances, he was taken home.
