Lloyd Green, a 14 year old lad of Payette, was arrested Wednesday for stealing a bicycle belonging to Ralph Spaulding. He was caught through stealing money from Wilfong & Co.’s cigar stand. The boy had been selling papers for the cigar stand and was around it a considerable part of his time. Tuesday about 100 five-cent checks were missed and at night a bag, containing nickels and dimes amounting to $8.30 was gone. Young Green was suspicioned and Wednesday was caught in the act of another theft be a neat trick. Ralph Spaulding saw his bicycle in front of the cigar stand and, although it had been daubed over with red enamel as a disguise, at once recognized it. Marshal Walton induced the lad to make a clean breast of the affair. He acknowledged taking the wheel from the Christian church Monday evening and also taking the money, of which he had $2.15 left hidden in the weeds next to the billiard hall. County Attorney F. J. Smith came down from Caldwell yesterday and will take up the case.
