The village election, which promised to be a tame affair up to the time of opening the polls Tuesday morning, turned to be a pretty hot number before the day was over. The largest vote was polled in the history of the town and the friends of the different candidates worked like beavers for the men of their choice. The majorities of the successful candidates ranged from 11 to 26, D.C. Chase leading with 97 out of 150 votes, B. F. Bartch being a close second with 92 votes. The new council will be composed of the following named gentleman: W. A. Coughanour and J. A Lauer, re-elected, D. C. Chase, Peter Pence and B. F. Bartch, new members.
