This is Our Birthday
 
This week marks the one year period since the Banner was "wafted to the 
breeze" in Fruitland.  For a new publication the Banner has done exceedingly 
well financially much better than could have been expected.  Whether the paper 
has merited the support given is a verdict that can only be accorded by the 
good people of Fruitland and vicinity.  A newspaper is only a business 
proposition after all, and while we might not have done all we had expected 
from a journalistic standpoint the venture has been successful financially.  
This being the case we hope to gradually improve the Banner until it is on a 
par with the country in the midst of which it is published.
