A meeting of the property holders concerned was held in the city hall at 3 o’clock, Tuesday afternoon, to consider the best means of building cement sidewalks in accordance with Ordinance No. 54, recently passed by the city council. The meeting was an entirely harmonious one all testifying their willingness to comply with the ordinance, practically the only objection raised being that the time given in which the walks are to be completed, by April 15, was too short. However, it is understood that the council is perfectly willing to be reasonable in the matter and give such time as it developes will be necessary. N. A Jacobsen acted as chairman of the meeting and T. S. Dulin as secretary. D. C. Chase read the ordinance in question and after some discussion a motion was carried that a committee of three be appointed to advertise for bids, allowing those who wish to accept the successful bid to sign the contract. J. A. Lauer, E. Zimmerman and N. A. Jacobsen were elected to act as this committee.
