TO OPEN NEW ROAD
 
We understand the Highway Commissioners of District No 2, are contemplating 
opening up a road from the P. E. Short corner, southeast of Payette, to extend 
west connecting with the State Highway at the Payette river bridge.  We agree 
with the Commissioners in this plan, it will shorten the distance for the 
people east of Payette and Little Willow in crossing the river to the 
Fruitland bench.  It will also accommodate the people of the Fruitland bench 
in visiting the section east of Payette. Let us have good roads and plenty of 
them.
