Begin Excavating For New Plant of Larger Capacity in Washoe. L. C. Mason, representing the building department of Armour & Co., whose large icehouse in Washoe was burned down last spring, was in Payette several days of last week and the first of this week looking after the work of having a new icehouse constructed. Mr. Mason states that it is the intention of the company to construct a building 50x90, which will be larger than the one burned. The work of breaking the ground has already commenced. There will be from 10 to 50 men employed until the structure is finished, which will be the middle of November. The new structure will be equipped with all modern machinery for handling ice. It will not be erected on the old site but will be located about 400 feet east of the pond, thus obviating the danger of fire from passing trains. A Y will be build out to the icehouse form the mainline upon which a train can be turned around if necessary.
