TO WATER 600 ADDITIONAL ACRES
 
Movement On Foot to Install Big Pumping Plant South Of Fruitland
 
There is a movement on foot to install a pumping plant sufficient to irrigate 
some 600 acres of choice land lying between the Orchard company's tract and 
the end of Pennsylvania avenue, about three miles south of Fruitland.
 
It is planned to locate the pumping station near the Payette Valley Land & 
Orchard tract and raise the water from the Farmer's Co-operative ditch.  The 
land to be watered lies just above this ditch and will not have to be pumped 
any great height.
 
At the present time there is a probability that the project will be completed 
this spring.
