Shawhan & Ross in their endeavor to permanently improve the road between Payette and Washoe will be more fully appreciated next spring if we are again obliged to drag our wagons hub deep in mud over the Washoe bottom road. These gentleman secured the promise of about 150 days labor with team from the people directly interested in this road. A competent foreman was left in charge at no expense to the county, but though the weather has been favorable during the past month only 50 days work has been done. When the work of grading is completed the county commissioners have agreed to appropriate enough money to gravel it thoroughly. Do the work while the weather is favorable. The time spent in work this fall will be saved next spring. Let everybody work out his donation next week and get the road graded this fall. Let us have good roads.
