Welkers Plan Observing 25th Anniversary Here

U. S. Senator and Mrs. Herman Welker are planning on celebrating their 25th 
wedding anniversary on Sept. 20 here with relatives and friends, according to 
an announcement made this morning by the senator’s press secretary, Jim Hayden.

Hayden said that Senator Welker had declined a speaking engagement at 
Milwaukee, Wis. in order to spend the anniversary here where he and Mrs. Welker 
were married in 1930.

There have been no formal plans made for the observance as yet, Hayden said but 
both Senator and Mrs. Welker want to be here with friends and relatives on the 
anniversary.

The Welkers have been vacationing at McCall for the past several weeks.  
Beginning this week, Hayden said the senator has a heavy schedule of speaking 
engagements at different cities in the state during September and October.
