Work was taken up again on the city well this week. It has been decided to not bore any deeper as they now have a sufficient quantity of water for pumping purposes at their present depth and Mr. Price, who is digging the well, states that he thinks the water soft and pure. The water will be carefully tested and if found satisfactory the well will be rimmed out and a reservoir built and a pumping plant installed. The work in the city of laying pipes, etc., will be commenced in a short time. The general plan of the water works system, as prepared by the city engineer, can be seen in Thurston’s drug store window, where it is now being displayed.
