Having been in poor health the last few years since her husband's death, she passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Milliman in Portland, Ore., August 7. Funeral services were at the Holman & Luty Chapel, Friday. Former Payette friends acted as pall bearers. Fulfilling a request of the deceased that she be buried in Portland, interment was made at that place and arrangements made for the reburial of her beloved husband, whose death preceded hers by a few years, by her side. Alda Viola Butler was born in Wisconsin, February 13, 1870, coming to Idaho with her parents while yet a young girl. After residing in Boise a few years she came to Payette with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Butler, in the spring of 1883. In 1890 she was married to John R. Banks of this city. With the exception of the last year, Mrs. Banks has always made her home in Payette. She leaves four children to mourn her demise, Lynn of Seattle; Claude of Klamath Falls; Lucille of Portland and John of Payette. With the exception of John the children were all with her at the time of her death. Johnnie arriving just about an hour too late. Besides her children, Mrs. Banks leaves two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. H. C. Frakes of Payette and Mrs. C. D. Roe of La Grande Ore., also a number of nieces and nephews. Leaves have their time to fall, And flowers to wither at the north wind's breath, And stars to set, but all -- Thou hast all seasons for thine own, O death.
