Bergman Leslie C. Bergman, 75, Payette, died June 25, 1992, in a Walnut Creek, Calif., hospital. Services were 10 a.m. today at St. James Episcopal Church, Payette. The Rev. Craig Heverely of Seven Rivers Cluster of Episcopal Churches officiated. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Payette, under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. She was born Sept. 9, 1916, at Payette, daughter of Lester and Lillan Jacobson Seawell. She was raised and educated in Payette, graduating from high school in the class of 1934. As a young woman, she moved to Boise where she worked at Gowen Field as an administrative assistant to General Walsh. She later worked in the same capacity for Governor Smylie. She married John W. Berman on Oct. 14, 1945, at Boise. They made their home in Boise until 1949, when John died. Leslie moved back to Payette where she raised their daughter, Christina. She worked for the Payette County Tax assessor’s office. She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star, Lorraine Chapter #20, Payette, and a member of St. James Episcopal Church. She taught Sunday School, published the church paper, and was an active member of the Women’s Guild. She was treasurer of the American Cancer Society in Payette. She belonged to numerous bridge clubs, and the Friday Musicale in Payette. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Gary Kloster of Walnut Creek; two grandsons, Mark S. Kloster of Norwich Military Academy, Vt., and Brian S. Kloster of Walnut Creek, and numerous cousins. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.
