Funeral Services Held Monday
 
Funeral services were conducted last Monday at the Shaffer Memory chapel for 
Mrs. Josephine Chalfant, 40, who passed away on Saturday at the Ontario 
hospital.  Rev. Harold Jacks had charge of the service and interment was made 
in Riverside cemetery.
 
Mrs. Chalfant was born May 16, 1912 at Royal, Nebr., and moved to this city 
six years ago from Princeville, Oregon.
 
Deceased is survived by her husband, DeWayne Chalfant, of the city; one 
daughter, Mrs. Rose Marie Emerick, of Payette; one son, Clyde Chalfant of this 
city; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ziegenbein of Royal, Nebr.; nine 
brothers, Henry Ziegenbein, Payette, Stanley and Lester Ziegenbein, both of 
Hood River, Oregon; Robert, Clinton and Charles Ziegenbein, of Battle Creek, 
Nebr.; Garen Ziegenbein of Wisner, Nebr.; Raymond Ziegenbein with the Air 
Force in England and Lloyd Ziegenbein with the Air Force in Florida, and two 
grandchildren.
