Childers PAYETTE - Orville C. Childers, 77, Payette, died Monday, Feb. 16, 1987, at an Ontario hospital. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Riverside Cemetery in Payette, with Pastor Peter Clay of the Payette First Baptist Church officiating, under direction of the Shaffer-Jensen Chapel, Payette. He was born Jan. 14, 1910, at Teriton, Okla., the son of Frank and Maude Baker Childers. He was reared and educated in Oklahoma. He married Geraldine Akers in 1933 at Lela, Okla. In addition to farming in Oklahoma, he sold machinery, did trucking and custom harvesting. He and his wife were divorced in 1955. He moved to Caldwell in 1957, and worked for Simplots for a number of years, moving to Payette in 1976. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Keith Childers, Stillwater, Okla., and Frank Childers, Ponca City, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Merlin (Karen) Schwanz, Portland, and Mrs. Harold (Betty) Adler, Payette; four brothers, Everett Childers, Orlando, Okla.; Lowell Childers and William J. Childers, both of Glencoe, Okla.; and Arthur Childers, Sand Springs, Okla.; six sisters, Nola Kinion, Lora Pruitt, and Mable Segner, all of Sand Springs; Opal Brensing, Skedee, Okla., Mildred McDearmid, Hickory, N.C. and Jewell Hammett, Vian, Okla.
