Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2738 will conduct military rites, under the ;direction of Payette Chapel of the Roses. He was born Jan. 1, 1895 in Marshall, Minn., the son of Jans and Alma Christensen. He came to this community in 1921 and had lived on the Oregon Slope since 1939 with his wife, Della Horn who he married on Jan. 16, 1923 in Emmett. He had been a farmer most of his life. He was a charter member of the VFW Post No. 2738 in Payette and had been a past commander. He was a WWI veteran and had received the Purple Heart while in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Della at home, some stepson, Lyle Stahn of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Ensign of Santa Monica, Calif.; Mrs. Floyd Floss Lockhart and Mrs. Pearl Ferrell both of Payette; one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Friends may call this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and on Friday morning until time of services. Pallbearers will be Ron, Lee, Calvin and Chris Christensen and Blain Mathiesen and Virgil Johnson.
