H. Connyers, 84, died at his home Saturday evening at 9 o’clock. He was one of the oldest settlers in Payette coming to this town when it was named "Boomerang", in a covered wagon from Iowa in 1882. He was born in Texas July 14, 1850. Mr. Connyers came to Payette in 1883, and opened a blacksmith shop. In 1888 he moved to Long Valley, to a farm, which he ran for a number of years. Surviving Mr. Connyers are two daughters, Mrs. Will Wells of Payette; Mrs. A. T. Miller, of Seattle; four sons, John Connyers, of Challis, Vet Connyers of Cascade, "Doc" Connyers, of Cascade, Rufus Connyers of McCall, 24 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Connyers were held Monday afternoon at the Landon Funeral Home at two o’clock. Rev. John Cato of Meridian officiated.
