H. CONYERS PASSES SATURDAY NIGHT J. H. Conyers passed away Saturday night at his home on North second street, at the age of 84 years. Mr. Conyers was one of the founders of Payette, having pioneered to Idaho by covered wagon train in 1883, from Iowa. He was married to Elizabeth Jane Peasley, in Iowa at the age of 19. To this union were born twelve children, seven boys and five girls. Mr. Conyers was a blacksmith by trade, and in 1888 moved from Payette to Long Valley, where he took up land and farmed for a number of years. Mrs. Conyers passed on in 1915, and Mr. Conyers moved back to Payette that year. In 1922 he was married to Mrs. Lucy Barnhart. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Conyers, two daughters, Mrs. Will Wells of Payette, and Mrs. H. E. Miller of Seattle, four sons, Vet Conyers and S. W. Conyers of Cascade, John Conyers of Challis and Rufus Conyers of McCall; twenty- three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Landon Funeral Home, with interment in the Riverside cemetery. Six of the grandsons acted as pallbearers.
