Mrs. Florence O. Cox Called By Death
 
Mrs. Florence Ophelia Cox, 75, passed on at the family home on First Avenue 
South Saturday.
 
Mrs. Cox was born at Little Rock, Ark. Feb. 2, 1872 and came west in a covered 
wagon with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Blalock in 1877 to Prairie City, 
Oregon and later moving to Juntura and Riverside, Oregon.  She was married at 
Riverside to George W. Cox in 1889.  Four children were born to this union.  
Her husband died Dec. 25th 1925.  Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Ona 
Barkley, Hot Springs, N. M.; Mrs. Elsie Parks, Payette; Mrs. Georgia Worth, 
Portland, Oregon, ten grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Cox was 
postmistress at Riverside, Oregon for about twenty years.  Funeral services 
were conducted from the Baptist church Monday morning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. 
Paul Felthouse officiating.  Landon's were in charge.  Interment was at 
Riverside, Oregon.
