WEISER - Services for John R. Cox, 65, Weiser, who died Tuesday in an Ontario 
hospital were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Weiser Church of Jesus Christ 
of Latter-day Saints.  Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Payette, under the 
direction of Northam Jones Chapel, Weiser.  
 
He was born April 13, 1912, in Weiser, and attended school in the Crystal area 
and Payette.  He married Necia Woodruff Caldwell, Sept. 19, 1937, in Weiser.
 
They resided near Weiser where they farmed melons and was an orchardist.  He 
was a member of the Baptist Church and the Ontario Gun Club.
 
Surviving are his wife, Weiser; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Joan) Clarke, Houston, 
Tex.; a son, James, Payette; five sisters, Jane Shamberger, Glenns Ferry, Mary 
Steigerwalt, Lillian Moggridge, Elizabeth Peutz and Christine Trail, all 
Payette; two brothers, Oscar and Chelsey, both Chelan, Wash., and seven 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Walter, 
and by a grandson, Daniel Riley Clarke.
