Currin had been killed in action in France in December. As usual the telegram gave no details but stated that a letter would follow. On Dec. 10, Mrs. Currin received notification that her husband was reported missing in action in France since Nov. 18. She and other relatives therefore had been hopefully waiting since that time, but no word came during the long weeks until the telegram Monday. Robert, who was born at the family home on Willow Creek was 23 last April 16. He graduated from Payette high school with the class of 1939 and was married to Miss Fern Johnson April 21, 1943. They farmed on Willow Creek until he was called into service on April 27, 1944. After receiving his basic training he was sent overseas last September, with an infantry division. He was transferred later to another unit, and it was with the latter, he was serving when he was reported missing in action. Besides his wife he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde A. Currin of Willow Creek and two sisters, Mrs. G. L. Sires of Portland and Mrs. Clifford Hansen, Payette.
