Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. He was born Dec. 24, 1915, at Fort Bidwell, Calif., a son of Elbert Edwin and Mabel Fee Dodson. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School in California and then attended and graduated from the University of California, Davis College. He then worked for Safeway in Oakland, Calif., as a produce buyer. In January 1943 he was inducted into the Army where he served in World War 11 in the South Pacific. After the war he returned to work for Safeway. He married Barbara H. Pierce in 1946. He moved to Ft. Bidwell where he owned and operated a cattle ranch for 12 years. He relocated to Payette where he resumed ranching on Little Willow. In 1967 he sold the ranch and moved to Payette. He worked for Marshall Fixture Company. He later moved to Santa Cruz until retiring. In his retirement he bought a motor home and spent time traveling, hunting and fishing. Survivors include two sons, Charles Dodson of Payette and Daniel Dodson of Oregon; two daughters and their husbands, Sharon and Doug Reynolds of Vallejo, Calif., and Jackye and Dan Johnson of Payette; grandchildren, Shelley Goodman of Boise, Anje Dodson of Moraga, Calif., Jennifer and Dax Johnson and Chelsea Dodson, all of Payette, Danielle and Michelle Vogt of Fruitland, and a special friend, Donna Rowe.
