Mr. Dykema was born Dec. 14, 1892 in Holland and came to the United States with his parents at the age of three weeks. The family lived in South Dakota. He married Janita Weaver in Platte, S. Dak., Feb. 18, 1915. The couple moved to the New Plymouth community in 1936. Mr. Dykema was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church in New Plymouth. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dykema is survived by two sons, Ralph and Arent Dykema, both of New Plymouth; one daughter, Mrs. Richard King of Cheyenne, Wyo.; his father, John Dykema of Platte; one brother, Bill Dykema of Murdo, S. Dak.; five sisters, Mrs. John VanDeWoude of Everston, Wash., Mrs. Lucy Bessey of Wessington Springs, S. Dak., Mrs. Dick Luurs of (unreadable), S. Dak., Mrs. Peter VanRooyen of Murdo and Mrs. Mert Koopal of Platt; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. at the Shaffer Memory Chapel with the Rev. O. Winterstein officiating. Interment will follow at Park View in New Plymouth.
