Mr. Filley was born April 8, 1905 at Council and has resided in Weiser for the past eight years. He is said to have a greater working knowledge of Weiser electrical circuits than any person in the community. Mr. Filley went to work for the city of Weiser in 1947 and became electrical foreman. Included in the many projects which he planned and installed were the drawing up of plans for the city electrical lines and improvement of the city power system by sectionalizing the circuits. This sectionalizing enabled crews to confine power failures to small sections of the community rather than the entire city. At the time of death, he was engaged in the project of a proposed installation of a "loop" circuit into the city which could be used as a secondary source of power for the city in case of power failure on the main supply lines. He also assisted in the installation and design of the lights at Memorial park and in shortening lines to keep voltages up and installing more transformers throughout the city to give residents better service. Mr. Filley is survived by his wife, Juline; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Filley of Council; and three brothers, George Filley of Richmond, Calif., Sig of Cascade Locks, Ore., and Lewis of Eugene, Ore., a sister, Mrs. Marion Foutz of Klamath Falls, Ore. The time of services has been set for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Northam-Jones chapel with Rev. O. L. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Rosedale cemetery in Payette.
