Greggs Died At Roseburg Alvin A. Greggs of this city died at the Veterans Hospital in Roseburg, Oregon, Sept. 3. He was born on July 5, 1894 at Sarlyle, Kansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Greggs. On November 8, 1919, he was married to Miss Edith Oliver at Carlyle. To this union six children were born. The family came to Payette February 11, 1945. He is survived by his wife Edith, four daughters, Mrs. Robt. Belfore, of Collany, Kans., Mrs. Richard Gilmore, Iola, Kans., Mrs. Wilbur Mullins, Payette and Miss Nellie M. Greggs, of Payette; two sons Kenneth Ray, of Payette and Pvt. Henry Greggs, of the armed forces overseas. Services were conducted from the Payette Baptist church Saturday Sept. 8 with the Rev. Paul Felthouse officiating. Burial was at the Rosedale Memorial Park with John Webster Rhoads Post, of the American Legion in charge. Pall bearers were Claude Horton, Claude Cortwright, Chas. Pearce, R. M. Whittier, Ivan D. Williamson and Lee Coblentz. Color bearers were Floyd Dale and John Aldecoa. Members of the firing squad were L. L. Dick, Henry Sheppard, Chas. Blair, Lee Coblentz and Bryan West, Bugler, Jay Fitch.
